I absolutely loved my visit here! The salon is cozy and relaxing, and the staff is super friendly and professional. My massage therapist Kristine did an amazing job — I felt all the tension melt away. I walked out feeling refreshed, light, and full of energy. Definitely recommend this place if you want a top-quality massage!
My new favorite place! Big luxury rooms with beautiful view on Corniche. Very friendly and professional staff. Many thanks, Rover spa, and big success! 👍
Swedish massage employs five core techniques — effleurage (gliding), petrissage (kneading), tapotement (rhythmic tapping), friction, and vibration. Applied with warm massage oil, it offers a gentler, more soothing experience than deep tissue work, making it ideal for newcomers and anyone seeking pure relaxation and stress relief.

Your Swedish massage at Rover European Spa takes place in a private, beautifully appointed treatment room. Your therapist begins with a brief consultation to understand any areas of tension or concern. You then relax on a heated massage table as your therapist works through each area of the body using warm, aromatic oils of your choice.
Sessions are available in 60 and 90 minutes. We recommend 90 minutes if it is your first visit or if you carry significant tension.
To get the most from your Swedish massage, drink plenty of water afterwards and allow yourself a little time to rest — the sense of relaxation deepens over the hours that follow. Many guests treat a 60-minute session as a monthly reset, while a 90-minute massage makes a wonderful occasional indulgence. It also pairs beautifully with our hammam: the Swedish Massage and Royal Moroccan Bath combination is one of the most popular ways to spend an unhurried afternoon at the spa.
Why Rover European Spa
Our Team
Good to know
A Swedish massage at Rover European Spa in Abu Dhabi is available in two durations: 60 minutes at 625 AED and 90 minutes at 1,025 AED. We recommend the 90-minute session for a first visit, as it gives your therapist time to work through the back, neck, shoulders and legs without ever feeling hurried. The 60-minute option suits guests who want a focused reset during a working day, concentrating on wherever tension has gathered. Whichever you choose, the treatment unfolds in a private room on a heated massage table, with warm oils chosen at the start of your session. Allow a few extra minutes on either side to settle in and to rest afterwards, as many guests find the sense of calm deepens over the hour that follows. We are open daily from 10:00 AM to 3:00 AM, so late-evening appointments are easy to arrange.
Yes — a Swedish massage at Rover European Spa is the gentlest introduction to professional massage we offer. The technique uses long, gliding strokes, light kneading and warm oil at a gentle to medium pressure, so the experience feels soothing rather than intense from the first minute. Your therapist begins with a short consultation, explains each stage, and adjusts the pressure whenever you ask, so nothing is left to guesswork. You are professionally draped throughout and the room is private, which helps new guests relax quickly. Many first-time visitors find the 60-minute session a comfortable starting point, moving to 90 minutes once they know how their body responds. With 17 multidisciplinary therapists on the team, we can also match you with someone whose style suits your preference, whether that is lighter relaxation work or slightly firmer kneading. It is a dependable first step into our wider treatment menu.
At Rover European Spa, a Swedish massage is the relaxation choice: flowing effleurage strokes, gentle kneading and warm oil at a light to medium pressure, designed to calm the nervous system and improve circulation. Deep tissue massage works differently: slower, firmer strokes that reach the deeper muscle layers and fascia to break down long-standing knots and adhesions. If your aim is to unwind, sleep better and ease everyday tension, Swedish is the natural choice; if you carry stubborn tightness from desk work or training, deep tissue is the better fit. Pricing reflects the difference in technique: Swedish starts at 625 AED for 60 minutes, while deep tissue starts at 750 AED. Many guests alternate between the two across the year, and our therapists are happy to advise on which suits your body on the day — simply describe how you feel when you arrive.
No — everything you need for a Swedish massage at Rover European Spa is provided. Each private treatment room is prepared with fresh towels, a heated massage table and a choice of warm aromatic oils, and you are professionally draped from start to finish. Wear whatever feels comfortable for the journey; you will have privacy to undress to your own level of comfort before the session begins. Arriving around ten minutes early is helpful, as your therapist starts with a brief consultation about pressure preferences and any areas of tension. If you plan to return to work afterwards, the oils are light and absorb well, though many guests prefer to let the relaxed feeling carry them home. Should you wish to add a hammam or extend your time, just ask at reception — the team will check availability on the spot.
Rover European Spa is an independent spa on the 5th floor of Le Royal Méridien hotel on Sheikh Khalifa Street, Al Danah, Abu Dhabi — a short drive from the Corniche, and distinct from the hotel's own spa. For a relaxation treatment like Swedish massage, the location works beautifully: guests in the Al Danah business district can step in after work, and the late hours mean an unhurried evening session is always possible. We are open daily from 10:00 AM to 3:00 AM, every day of the week. Walk-ins are welcome subject to availability, though booking ahead secures your preferred time and therapist. To reserve, message us on WhatsApp or call +971 56 288 2206 and tell us whether you would like 60 or 90 minutes. Once inside the hotel, take the lift to the 5th floor and our reception will welcome you.
