At Rover European Spa, we bring the authentic hammam experience to the heart of Abu Dhabi, offering both traditional and Royal Moroccan bath options.

Rover Spa is a hidden gem. The combination of the beautiful environment, the professional and kind staff, and the incredibly talented therapists makes it a must-visit destination for anyone needing a day of self-care. I cannot recommend it enough and I will definitely be back soon! Thank you, Rover Spa, for an unforgettable experience!
I absolutely loved my visit here! The salon is cozy and relaxing, and the staff is super friendly and professional. My massage therapist Kristine did an amazing job — I felt all the tension melt away. I walked out feeling refreshed, light, and full of energy. Definitely recommend this place if you want a top-quality massage!
My new favorite place! Big luxury rooms with beautiful view on Corniche. Very friendly and professional staff. Many thanks, Rover spa, and big success! 👍
The traditional Moroccan bath is a multi-step ritual that combines steam, black beldi soap (savon beldi), kessa glove exfoliation, and rhassoul clay to deeply cleanse and soften the skin. Unlike a standard sauna, the hammam is an active treatment — your therapist performs each step, working systematically across every surface of the body. The result is dramatically softer, brighter skin, a deeply cleansed feeling, and complete physical relaxation.
Why it feels so good
Deep exfoliation
The kessa glove removes dead skin to reveal a fresh surface.
Softer, brighter skin
Black soap and steam leave the skin noticeably renewed.
Draws out impurities
Rhassoul clay (in the Royal bath) purifies and detoxifies.
Improves circulation
Steam and scrubbing stimulate healthy blood flow.
Deeply relaxing
The warmth and ritual ease both body and mind.
A complete reset
You leave feeling thoroughly cleansed and renewed.
On arrival you are shown to a private steam room where the heat prepares your body for treatment. Your therapist then applies black beldi soap across the whole body and lets it work for several minutes before using a kessa exfoliation glove to systematically lift away dead skin.
In the Royal Moroccan Bath, a rhassoul clay mask follows to draw out impurities, with a scalp treatment and extra massage, before a final warm rinse. We offer the Standard bath (45 min) and the Royal bath (60 min), and you can combine either with a Swedish massage for the ultimate experience.
For most people a Moroccan bath every three to four weeks keeps the skin at its smoothest, though it is just as rewarding as an occasional deep-cleansing ritual before a holiday or a special event. Afterwards, drink water and moisturise to lock in the softness the steam and scrub reveal. If it is your first hammam, there is no need to feel unsure — your therapist performs every step and guides you gently through the ritual, so you can simply relax into the warmth and let the experience unfold.
Why Rover European Spa
Our Team
Good to know
The Standard Moroccan Bath at Rover European Spa (45 minutes, 650 AED) is the classic ritual: steam preparation in a private steam room, black beldi soap applied across the whole body, and systematic kessa-glove exfoliation followed by a warm rinse. The Royal Moroccan Bath (60 minutes, 850 AED) keeps every one of those steps and adds three more: a rhassoul clay body mask to draw out impurities, a scalp treatment, and extra massage worked in along the way. Choose the Standard when you want the essential deep-cleansing experience; choose the Royal when you want the complete tradition as performed in the finest Moroccan riads. First-timers are well served by either — the therapist performs every step in both versions. If your skin has not been exfoliated professionally for months, the Royal's extra quarter-hour is usually worth it. Both leave the skin remarkably soft.
For a Moroccan bath at Rover European Spa you wear disposable underwear, which we provide — there is nothing to bring and nothing of your own to get soaked. Towels, the black beldi soap, the kessa glove and the rhassoul clay are all supplied as part of the ritual. Arrive a few minutes early, change in privacy, and your therapist will guide you into the private steam room where the treatment begins. Leave jewellery at home if you can — steam, soap and clay are unkind to it — and bring a hairbrush if you plan to go on somewhere afterwards. If you are new to the hammam, there is no etiquette to learn: the therapist performs every step and tells you exactly what happens next. Comfort and modesty are carefully looked after from the first minute to the final warm rinse.
Yes — pairing the hammam with a massage is the most complete experience at Rover European Spa, and one of our most requested bookings. Popular combinations include the Swedish Massage with Moroccan Bath and the Swedish Massage with Royal Moroccan Bath — deep cleansing and full-body relaxation in a single unhurried visit. The order matters and we plan it for you: the steam and exfoliation come first, leaving the muscles warm and the skin receptive, so the massage that follows works noticeably deeper. Allow roughly two hours for the full combination, and a little longer for the Royal version. Message us on WhatsApp for current combination pricing and to reserve your preferred time, especially for evenings and weekends. Many guests make the pairing an occasional tradition — before a holiday, after a hard month, or simply when body and skin both need attention at once.
Dramatically softer, brighter and more deeply cleansed than everyday washing can manage — that is the honest answer, and it is why the Moroccan bath at Rover European Spa keeps its devoted following. The steam opens the skin, the black beldi soap loosens what sits on the surface, and the kessa glove lifts away the dead layer most people never realise they are carrying. In the Royal bath, rhassoul clay then draws out impurities before the final rinse. Many guests find the glow visible the same evening and the softness lasting a week or more. Drink water afterwards and moisturise that night to lock the result in. A ritual every three to four weeks keeps skin consistently at its smoothest, though a single bath before a holiday or special event is its own reward. If your skin is sensitive, mention it when you book.
Rover European Spa is an independent spa on the 5th floor of Le Royal Méridien hotel, Sheikh Khalifa Street, Al Danah, Abu Dhabi, close to the Corniche — a separate establishment within the hotel, not the hotel spa itself. That matters for a hammam: our Moroccan bath is performed in a private steam room rather than a shared facility, so the whole ritual — steam, black soap, kessa scrub and rinse — happens with complete privacy. After the bath you step out warm, glowing and unhurried — an evening stroll along the Corniche is a popular way to finish. We are open daily from 10:00 AM to 3:00 AM, and walk-ins are welcome subject to availability. Hammam slots are popular at weekends, so reserve on WhatsApp or call +971 56 288 2206 to be sure of your time.
